Common gastrointestinal effects of Wegovy include: Nausea (very common, particularly during dose escalation) Diarrhoea (very common) Vomiting, constipation, and abdominal discomfort Reduced appetite (therapeutic effect, but may feel uncomfortable initially) Antibiotics frequently cause: Diarrhoea (particularly broad-spectrum antibiotics like amoxicillin or co-amoxiclav) Nausea and abdominal cramping Disruption of normal gut flora In some cases, antibiotic-associated colitis ( Clostridioides difficile infection) When taking both medications simultaneously, gastrointestinal symptoms may be additive , meaning you might experience more pronounced nausea or diarrhoea than with either medication alone
Wegovy: started at 0.25 mg weekly and escalated every 4 weeks up to 1.7 mg or 2.4 mg weekly maintenance (2.4 mg is the recommended maintenance dose for most indications on the label) (FDA Wegovy label, 2025)
Once you reach this plateau, your dose typically stays the same unless your goals change or your body's response shifts over time
